Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Technician to oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and development of our family-owned private estate assets in a rural community. As part of our team, you will work in a positive, friendly, and collaborative environment, with opportunities for long-term growth and development.

Main Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of various estate systems, including HVAC, appliances, plumbing, lighting, and generators, as well as coordinating with third-party service providers when necessary.
  • Manage and prioritize service requests, assigning tasks to internal teams and external service providers, and ensuring quality control throughout the process.
  • Supervise full-time cleaning staff, schedule tasks, and monitor quality control.
  • Monitor smart home systems, identify issues, and assign tasks to internal or external service providers as needed.
  • Assist internal personnel and service providers with regular tasks related to residential properties.
  • Develop and maintain a preferred supplier and service provider roster, evaluating their skill sets and quality of work.
  • Assist with budget preparation for capital projects and repairs.
  • Maintain detailed logs of property and equipment maintenance.
  • Provide weekly estate management updates to family representatives.
  • Coordinate permits and applications.
  • Review and approve invoices.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Previous experience in general contracting or a skilled trade is required.
  • Ability to perform physical and technical tasks that require strength, coordination, and dexterity.
  • Capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective management of multiple responsibilities and relationships within the reporting structure.
  • Demonstrated positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Flexibility in scheduling and willingness to work weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to execute tasks safely.
  • Experience with preventative and routine maintenance on small equipment and machinery.
