Job Description

About the Role

The National Research Council Canada is seeking a highly skilled Technical Officer, Building Acoustics to join our Construction Research Centre. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, fabricating, documenting, and testing sound transmission for full-scale building assemblies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and construct full-scale experimental test assemblies
  • Perform acoustical tests in accordance with quality assurance procedures
  • Document construction details and test results
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve research and development objectives

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in a construction-related field, such as carpentry or building construction technology
  • Experience in construction practices, quality assurance procedures, and acoustical measurements
  • Advanced knowledge of standard construction practices for building test assemblies
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
