About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Officer, Building Acoustics to join our team at the National Research Council Canada. As a key member of our Construction Research Centre, you will play a crucial role in supporting our research and development objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, fabricate, document, and test sound transmission for full-scale building assemblies.
  • Conduct acoustical tests in accordance with quality assurance procedures for each of the acoustical facilities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Develop and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Requirements
  • Diploma or degree in a construction-related field, such as carpentry or building construction technology.
  • Equivalent combination of work-related experience, training, and education may be considered.
  • Experience in proper construction practices, quality assurance procedures, and acoustical measurements.
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety best practices.
Competencies
  • Advanced knowledge of standard construction practices for building test assemblies.
  • Solid knowledge and expertise to capture pertinent aspects of specimen construction details.
  • Ability to use general office software products.
  • Knowledge of technology support and behavioral competencies.
What We Offer

As a Technical Officer, Building Acoustics at the National Research Council Canada, you will enjoy a competitive salary range of $49,298 to $69,364 per annum, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental plans, vacation, sick, and other leave entitlements, disability insurance, and pension plans.
