Job Title: Technical Officer, Building Acoustics

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Officer, Building Acoustics to join our team at the National Research Council of Canada (NRC). As a key member of our Construction Research Centre, you will play a critical role in supporting our research and development objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, fabricate, document, and test sound transmission for full-scale building assemblies.
  • Conduct acoustical tests in accordance with quality assurance procedures for each of the acoustical facilities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Document construction details and maintain accurate records.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or degree in a construction-related field, such as carpentry or building construction technology.
  • Experience in proper construction practices, quality assurance procedures, and acoustical measurements.
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety best practices.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
