Key Responsibilities
  • Market Research: Conduct thorough market research to stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor activity, and market conditions.
  • Product Sourcing: Identify and establish relationships with reliable suppliers to source high-quality merchandise.
  • Inventory Management: Collaborate with the inventory management team to ensure adequate stock levels and optimize inventory turnover.
  • Vendor Negotiations: Negotiate prices, discounts, credit terms, and transportation arrangements with suppliers to ensure the best possible deals.
  • Merchandise Distribution: Oversee the distribution of merchandise to our outlets, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to our clients, responding to their needs and resolving any issues promptly.
  • Requirements Planning: Review the requirements of our establishments and determine the quantity and type of merchandise to purchase.
  • Procurement Planning: Develop and implement procurement plans to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of merchandise.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise the work of other buyers, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of procurement tasks.
  • Trade Show Attendance: Attend trade shows, showrooms, factories, and product design events to stay informed about new products and industry developments.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
