About the Opportunity

This position offers a unique chance to advance your accounting career while making a meaningful impact on the lives of Indigenous peoples. With a focus on full cycle bookkeeping and payroll functions, you will work closely with our clients to understand their financial needs and provide expert advice and support.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of payroll and related government remittances/filings.
  • Record and reconcile General Ledger (GL) accounts, including cash, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accrued liabilities, and intercompany transactions.
  • Set up client files and assist with the completion of budgets and administrative planning.

Requirements

  • A minimum two years of bookkeeping experience.
  • An accounting certificate or a bachelor's degree in commerce or business administration is required.
  • Experience working with desktop-based small business accounting packages, such as QuickBooks Desktop, Sage 50, Sage 300, Xyntax, Adagio, and/or other legacy desktop products is essential.
  • Cloud-based accounting package experience is considered an asset.
