The Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine is pleased to announce they are searching for a permanent full-time **Accounting Clerk-Payroll Accounts Receivable **to join their dedicated team. This position offers a salary range of $56,875.00 to $65,319.80 depending on experience, a pension, and a full range of benefits.

Terrace, where the role is located, is the regional retail and service hub for the northwestern portion of British Columbia. The opportunity for adventure is endless in any season. The Kitimat-Stikine region is the traditional homeland of the Tahltan, Nisga’a, Gitxsan, Wet’suwet’en, Heiltsuk, Tsimshian, and Haisla Nations. Spanning a geographic area of 110,000km² the RDKS is home to almost 40,000 people and includes the five incorporated municipalities of Terrace, Kitimat, Stewart, District of New Hazelton and the Village of Hazelton.
**Purpose Statement**:
Reporting to the Manager of Finance, this position is a member of the finance team responsible for a variety of tasks within the finance function. This position’s primary duties will include staff and board director payroll, full cycle accounts receivable including billing, cash receipting, and deposits, as well as general customer service and other accounting tasks as they arise.

**Major Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for issuing invoices, collecting payment, sending statements and balancing to GL each month.
- Responsible for calculating and processing staff payroll. Requires interaction with staff for information related to time cards to accurately process.
- Responsible for calculating and processing all board remuneration and expenses.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate records of staff vacation and benefits and advising staff of entitlements as requested.
- Responsible for submitting payroll remittances after each payroll.
- Responsible for processing incoming payments, reconciling to outstanding accounts and depositing into bank.
- Answering phones and customer service when required.
- To carry out additional and related tasks and functions as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer.
**Working with others**:
The Accounting Clerk - Payroll/Accounts Receivable is required to interact with all other departments within the organization as well as board directors on occasion. There will also be an expectation of daily interactions with members of the public and business customers responding to inquiries.
**Skills and Abilities**:
- Payroll, accounts receivable, and general bookkeeping skills are essential.
- Ability to work independently and shift priorities as necessary.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and various accounting software.
- Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service.
**Specific Training and Experience**:
Post-secondary certificate in accounting or combination of education and experience.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in an accounting related position. Experience with payroll and accounts receivable considered an asset.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
**Financial Responsibilities**:
Prepare and execute bank deposits, cash receipting, payroll, and monthly balancing of receivables.
**Work Environment**:
The duties of the Accounting Clerk - Payroll/Accounts Receivable are largely performed in an office environment.
**Physical, Mental and Visual Demands**
The position requires intense visual/listening concentration on a regular basis. There are mínimal physical demands.
