Cybersecurity Specialist for Enterprise Infrastructure

As a leading distributor of commercial print and business papers, specialty products, graphic solutions, sign & display equipment and materials, and packaging and facility supplies and equipment, Spicers Canada ULC is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Specialist to join our team. Our company is based in Vaughan, Ontario, with 16 regional locations that include custom manufacturing facilities in Edmonton, Toronto, and Winnipeg, as well as cash and carry locations, product showrooms, and equipment demo sites.
Job Overview:
- We are looking for a highly skilled Cybersecurity Specialist to oversee the organization's security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity and experience in administering and maintaining security infrastructure.
- This role involves monitoring and responding to security incidents, conducting investigations, and implementing corrective actions.
- The successful candidate will collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate security best practices across operations and participate in planning and implementing new security technologies.
- Regular security assessments and audits will be conducted to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
- The Cybersecurity Specialist will develop and maintain security policies and documentation and provide training and support to staff on security awareness and best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain the organization's security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents and alerts, conducting thorough investigations and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure security best practices are integrated into all aspects of the organization's operations.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of new security technologies and solutions.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Provide training and support to staff on security awareness and best practices.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3+ years of IT experience, with at least 1+ year of experience in cybersecurity.
- A degree or diploma in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong knowledge of security technologies and best practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection.
- Experience with security incident response and investigation.
- Good aptitude for new technology and a quick learner.
- Relevant entry-level cybersecurity certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or similar.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
