As a key member of the IT team at Spicers Canada ULC, the Network Protection Professional will be responsible for ensuring the organization's security infrastructure is secure and effective. This includes administering and maintaining firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection solutions. The successful candidate will monitor and respond to security incidents, conduct thorough investigations, and implement corrective actions. In addition, they will collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure security best practices are integrated into all aspects of the organization's operations. To be eligible for this position, candidates should have a minimum of 3+ years of IT experience, with at least 1+ year of experience in cybersecurity. A degree or diploma in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is required. Strong knowledge of security technologies and best practices is essential, along with experience with security incident response and investigation. Relevant entry-level cybersecurity certifications, such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or similar, are also necessary. The estimated salary for this position is around $95,000 per year, depending on experience.
