About the Role

At Stonewood Group Inc., we are seeking a highly experienced Senior Vice President, Finance to lead our divisional financial operations. As a key member of our executive team, you will be responsible for managing the finance function, providing strategic guidance, and driving business growth.

Job Description

We estimate the salary for this role to be between $180,000 and $250,000 per annum, depending on experience. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in senior financial management, preferably in a publicly traded company.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing financial reporting, audit, ITCs, and SRED submittals, as well as presenting to and working with senior management and head office. A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Commerce, or Administration with a professional designation such as CPA/CMA/CGA/CA is required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a key business partner to the COO, Regional Sales VPs, and operating team, providing financial guidance and counsel on business planning, budgeting, forecasting, and business analysis;
  • Managing the interface with the Corporate finance team and overseeing all ongoing financial matters;
  • Providing hands-on leadership, guidance, mentorship, and performance management to the finance staff;
  • Overseeing accounting, tax, insurance, budget, credit, treasury, and capital structure functions;
  • Providing effective cash flow management and making recommendations;
  • Reviewing existing financial procedures and implementing change as approved;
  • Ensuring operational milestones are met on time, with high quality, and meeting cost objectives;
  • Ensuring appropriate internal controls are in place for the benefit of all stakeholders, including SOX compliance;

Preferred Experience and Education

The following indicates specific industry, academic, and functional experience/qualifications that are important to the successful achievement of the identified responsibilities and performance deliverables:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Commerce, or Administration with CPA/CMA/CGA/CA designation;
  • A minimum of 10 years of senior financial management experience, preferably in a publicly traded company;
  • Extensive experience in senior financial management roles, including managing financial reporting, audit, ITCs, and SRED submittals;
  • Experience in handling legal documentation, T&Cs, LOCs, etc.;
  • Experience upgrading/implementing accounting and IT systems essential to run the business;
  • Knowledge of automated accounting systems, ULI;
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and computer skills;
  • Experience in managing, supervising, and leading personnel, including accounting, finance, legal, and compliance groups;
  • Participated in or led commercial negotiations relevant to the company's business plan;
  • Actual operational experience in a company managing a supply chain supporting multiple products, manufacturing, and inventory would be an asset;
  • Experience in a software sales operation is an advantage;
  • Experience working in a firm addressing global markets and complexities therein;
  • The ability to lead, communicate clearly and articulately, monitor, and express financial issues to the Executive team;
  • Experience within mid-sized technology companies dealing with issues of scaling and growth;
