We are seeking an experienced Electrical Instrumentation Specialist to join our team at the City of Windsor. As an Electrical Instrumentation Specialist, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining all phases of instrumentation and control systems, both pneumatic and electronic, within Pollution Control and other related facilities.

You will carry out an integrated program of adjustment, repair, preventive maintenance and modifications where required to the electrical, instrumentation, and power systems of all the electrical facilities and auxiliaries in the plants and Pumping Stations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain instrumentation and control systems
  • Perform preventive maintenance and modifications
  • Write daily logs and reports
  • Initiate purchases and make emergency purchases
  • Maintain amiable relations with the public and fellow staff
  • Travel to various off-site locations
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and be fit tested for SCBA as required
  • Perform Occupational Health & Safety duties

Requirements:

  • Three (3) year community college diploma as an Electrical Engineering Technologist or related field
  • Certificate of Qualification (inclusive of 9000 hours) as an Industrial Electrician (442A) or Construction Maintenance Electrician (309A)
  • Over two (2) years of general electrical experience plus two (2) years experience in instrumentation
  • Valid and lawful Class 'G' Driver's Licence
  • Working knowledge of solid state circuitry, PLC hardware and software, VFDs, instrument calibration and troubleshooting, industrial networks, CCTV systems
  • Compliance with all safety related regulations
