About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Building Division. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project management, including construction project start-up, schedules, and obtaining necessary permits. You will adopt our project management policies and procedures, prepare project revenue targets and budgets, establish performance standards, and interpret project costing reports for executive management.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Management Experience: Proven experience in managing ICI construction projects with values in excess of $5M, ensuring projects are completed on budget and on schedule.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to coach and mentor junior and intermediate-level Project Managers and their support staff.
  • Estimating and Proposal Development: Experience in developing project estimates and proposals, adding value engineering, and modifying the scope of work as necessary to minimize construction costs.
  • Site Management: Ability to manage site meetings, RFI's, invoices, and control the document process.
  • Reporting and Communication: Strong reporting and communication skills, with the ability to report to executive management any concerns or trends with projects that may impact the division's financial performance.
  • Resource Management: Ability to coordinate Site Supervisor, subtrades, materials, and project workforce needs.
  • Project Lifecycle Management: Experience in managing project activities throughout the project lifecycle, including the allocation of adequate resources, scheduling, documentation, budget, and other factors necessary for success.
  • Cost Management: Ability to track all project costs to ensure completion within budget.
  • Third-Party Management: Experience in managing the efforts and billing of third-party workers, such as consultants, and subtrades.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • University Degree or College Diploma: In construction or civil engineering technology, or project management.
  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience in project management in the ICI construction industry.
  • Certifications: C.E.T. and/or equivalent combinations of technical training.
  • Skills: Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, ability to identify and manage risks, well-organized, and able to work well under pressure.
  • Computer Proficiency: Excellent proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Project, and AutoCAD 2007 and Timberline.
