We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant CBSA Security Guard to join our team at the Immigration Holding Center in Surrey. As a key member of our security team, you will play a critical role in maintaining national security and public safety.

In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring individuals who have arrived at the airport and are experiencing immigration complications. Your duties will include:

  • Ensuring the protection of people, assets, and property
  • Escorting individuals within the facility, using restraints to ensure safety
  • Demonstrating empathy and compassion while working with individuals under stress
  • Observing, monitoring, and reporting on behavior of detainees
  • Conducting regular foot patrols of indoor and outdoor facilities
  • Monitoring and utilizing security software and equipment
  • Generating daily incident reports
  • Utilizing tactical training to de-escalate potentially dangerous situations

Requirements:
  • Valid British Columbia security guard license
  • Valid and current First Aid Level 1 (OFA1)
  • Advanced Security Training (AST)
  • Canadian citizenship or Permanent residence status (must have resided in Canada for 5 years)
  • High School diploma / Proof of education
  • Ability to pass a Public Works Clearance and a Vulnerable Sector Check
  • 1-year of security guard experience
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership capabilities
  • Experience working in a high-stress environment with quick responsiveness to emergency situations
  • Understanding of the importance of conciseness, security, and safety
