We are seeking dedicated security professionals to join our team at the Canada Border Services Agency's Immigration Holding Center in Surrey. As a CBSA Security Guard, you will play a vital role in maintaining national security and public safety.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, utilizing your skills to create a safe and supportive environment for individuals under stress. You will be responsible for monitoring and escorting individuals, ensuring the protection of people, assets, and property.

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess a valid British Columbia security guard license, a valid and current First Aid Level 1 (OFA1) certification, and Advanced Security Training (AST). You must also be a Canadian citizen or Permanent resident, have a High School diploma or equivalent, and be able to pass a Public Works Clearance and a Vulnerable Sector Check.

About the Role

As a CBSA Security Guard, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the protection of people, assets, and property
  • Escorting individuals within the facility, using restraints as necessary
  • Demonstrating empathy and compassion in a high-stress environment
  • Observing, monitoring, and reporting on behavior of detainees
  • Conducting regular foot patrols of indoor and outdoor facilities
  • Monitoring and utilizing security software and equipment
  • Generating daily incident reports
  • Utilizing tactical training to de-escalate potentially dangerous situations
