Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Power Plant Operator to join our team at Richardson International. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation of boilers and ammonia systems, as well as maintenance of boilers and auxiliary equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate boilers and ammonia systems to ensure efficient and safe operation
  • Maintain boilers and auxiliary equipment to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance
  • Monitor and coordinate corrective actions for equipment and systems
  • Maintain accurate records of boiler house activities
  • Respond to fire alarms and first aid emergencies

Requirements:
  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Valid 3rd Class Power Engineer Certificate
  • Valid First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain
  • Experience in operating large steam boilers and large ammonia refrigeration systems
  • Ability to work independently and take appropriate action where circumstances warrant
  • Mechanical aptitude/skills
  • Excellent written, documentation, computer and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to work shifts and overtime
