Job Summary

We are seeking an ambitious and experienced Learning and Development Specialist to join our Commercial Insurance team at Acera Insurance. As a Learning and Development Specialist, you will be responsible for facilitating and organizing in-house learning for new and existing team members.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Create and deliver training programs for Commercial Insurance, providing creative and effective instruction to accommodate various learning styles.
  • Coordinate training schedules and logistics, communicating with team members to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Manage group training sessions, adapting to diverse learning styles and needs.
  • Assess training needs of current and new staff members, auditing and adjusting training programs accordingly.
  • Design surveys to measure training effectiveness and gather feedback.
  • Collaborate with new, existing employees, management, and external vendors to ensure exceptional training experiences.
  • Work with Team Leads to ensure training needs are met and contribute to the overall success of the Commercial Insurance department.
  • Support the development of learning opportunities, identifying ways to continually improve and enhance the training experience.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of policy works, Applied Epic, and Microsoft suite of programs.
  • Develop, maintain, and update workflows to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Facilitate and train for large program renewals, ensuring a smooth transition.
  • Monitor, send, and follow up on time-sensitive safety net reports.
  • Liaise with the Lloyds team regarding contract renewals, including contract numbers, wording, and commission changes.
  • Collaborate with the Learning and Development team to improve processes, workflows, and monitor helpdesks.
  • Support teams with activity backlogs and vacation leaves.
  • Perform various other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Level 2 BC General Insurance Licence.
  • Microsoft Office, EPIC, and common Insurance carriers products/portals would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to travel and carry a valid driver's license.
