About the Role:

As a Health Care Aide Specialist with Alberta Health Services, you will be an integral part of our interdisciplinary team providing high-quality care to patients in need. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about delivering compassionate and patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care to patients, including assistance with activities of daily living, comfort, and safety
  • Work collaboratively with RNs and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Assist with routine care tasks, such as hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Participate in code blue responses and assume chest compression responsibilities as required

Requirements:

  • Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire
  • Active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory
  • Must meet one of the Alberta Health Services (AHS) Health Care Aide competency requirements: Certified, Substantially Equivalent, Deemed Competent, or willing to register for a HCA course
