Job Title: Sous Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at AVIV Immigrant Kitchen Restaurant. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Chef de Cuisine in the preparation and presentation of our menu items.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Chef de Cuisine in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure high-quality food production and presentation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Monitor inventory and ordering of ingredients and supplies.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and specials.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent position.
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and sanitation procedures.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree an asset.
