Paralegal Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Paralegal Support Specialist to join our team in the Government of Alberta. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual to provide high-level paralegal support using their advanced legal administration skills.
About the RoleThis role reports directly to the Paralegal Manager and requires you to provide a broad range of support to advisory and litigation counsel handling complex legal matters within the Civil Forfeiture practice area.
Responsibilities- Draft and provide comprehensive planning and organizational support to the Civil Forfeiture Office by managing administrative functions related to reporting, promotion, file management, policies, procedures, precedents, and knowledge sharing.
- Coordinate files by preparing comprehensive file structure and organization, perform legal research, draft correspondence and court documents for legal counsel review and attendance at court.
- Perform high-quality work under stress and time pressures while meeting critical deadlines. You will be required to proactively handle multiple tasks with limited instruction and prioritize a high-volume workload.
- Apply correct spelling, grammar, and legal terminology using strong writing, research, and technical/computer skills.
- Work closely with the Team Lead to coordinate final discharges, reporting, documentation, and ensure secure closure of files.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Advanced legal administration skills and experience in a similar role.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work accurately and promptly under pressure.
- Strong writing, research, and technical/computer skills.
- Knowledge of civil forfeiture laws and regulations.
