Job Summary

As the Head of Legal at SkillsWave LLC, you will be responsible for managing the company's employment-related legal matters, litigation, and other legal issues that arise. You will provide legal advice to the President and Executive Chairman as needed, acting as a trusted advisor to the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice to the Executive Chairman and senior leadership team on employment matters, litigation, corporate governance, corporate finance, securities, and mergers & acquisitions.
  • Develop, draft, revise, administer, implement, and interpret the company's compliance policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and government authorities as required.
  • Manage litigation, including eDiscovery and external litigation counsel.
  • Cross-functional project management.
  • Strong appreciation of the nuances of giving legal advice from an in-house perspective versus a private practice perspective.
  • Hard working, highly committed, reliable, and flexible.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced, multiple-project environment.
  • Project management skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Minimum 6+ years of relevant experience as a corporate lawyer.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience drafting and reviewing contract terms and conditions, including liability, indemnity, and IP considerations, government regulations, and procurement practices.
  • Transaction management experience an asset.
  • International experience an asset.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

What We Offer

A competitive salary in the range of $120,000 to $150,000, based on the minimum level of work experience and qualifications as listed above.
