EHS Compliance Specialist

The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist will be responsible for managing facility EHS programs, ensuring regulatory compliance and corporate policies are upheld. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of EHS regulations and be able to effectively communicate with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Manage documentation requirements to ensure EHS training files are kept organized and up to date.
- Work with the EHS manager to recommend corrective actions and establish regulatory compliance.
- Perform site training, maintain EHS records, and implement and update site procedures.
- Provide input to the Site EHS Manager and Operations management on EHS issues.
- Lead injury and illness tracking, case management, and root cause analysis.
- Review, approve, and conduct risk assessments, including assisting in the coordination of risk reduction projects.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university or Associate's Degree (with 2 years EHS experience).
- Prior experience with controlled documentation/documentation change management.
- Proficient use of computer, Microsoft Office, and other related applications or software.
- Basic knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc.
- Demonstrated initiative in proactively identifying future potential safety risks and suggesting or implementing appropriate countermeasures.
The typical work environment will be in an office setting and manufacturing plant floor environment. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer are expected. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds at times.
