Job Summary:

The District of Saanich is seeking a professional to join our Engineering Department. The Senior Development Engineering Technologist will perform technical work at a semi-professional level as part of a technical team that delivers new municipal infrastructure through development construction and acts as the caretaker for existing infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set servicing requirements and develop conceptual drawings for new developments in the District of Saanich.
  • Meet with owners, developers, and consultants to guide developments from the pre-application phase to construction.
  • Work closely with other municipal departments to ensure proper infrastructure is in place to support development.

Requirements:

  • Two-year diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 6 years of directly related experience.
  • Registration as an AScT with the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians BC (ASTTBC).
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.
  • Conversancy with computer-based engineering applications including AutoCAD and Bluebeam Revu.
