Building Automation and Optimization Manager

The Greater Victoria School District has a vast network of 52 buildings, spanning over five municipal jurisdictions. With a total floor space of 3.1 million ft2, the district caters to over 20,000 students and 3,500 staff.

This role is responsible for overseeing the building automation systems, working closely with Principals, Custodians, and Trades personnel. Key responsibilities include identifying and implementing cost-effective measures to optimize system performance, developing a long-term strategic plan, and collaborating with contractors and tradespeople on HVAC projects.

Required Qualifications:

  • Five years of experience as a Building Operator in a multisite jurisdiction, such as a school district or health authority.
  • Red Seal Trade qualification in one or more relevant areas (HVAC, Plumbing, Refrigeration, Electrical).
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging mechanical/HVAC and electrical/automation systems.
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in electrical, electronics, mechatronics, or mechanical engineering.
  • Registered Engineering Professional (P.Eng), Applied Science Technologist (AScT), or equivalent.
  • A valid driver's license and clean Personal Driving Record (driver's abstract) obtained within six months of application.

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary between $98,982 and $123,727, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package.
