What is the opportunity?

As a Senior Real Estate Credit Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting Directors in the Bank's Real Estate Markets group. Your primary responsibility will be to analyze and underwrite new loan requests using the Bank's Risk Assessment Framework, Financial Analysis, and Credit Tools. You will also be responsible for compiling financial information and preparing credit submissions to the Bank's credit group. Additionally, you will perform daily administration of the Group's lending portfolio, conduct annual credit reviews of the existing portfolio, and liaise with various stakeholders in the credit process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Focus on financing requests in the Alberta real estate markets;
  • Provide Directors with specific deal support as it relates to bilateral and syndicated senior secured loans, including budgetary analysis, cash flow analysis, financial statements analysis, market analysis, and credit writing;
  • Provide portfolio management oversight with assigned portfolios.

Requirements

  • Client focus;
  • Experience in commercial credit, financial statement, and underwriting analysis;
  • Strong analytical skills, including understanding of financial concepts and applications;
  • Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel;
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a positive attitude;
  • Motivated, proactive thinker with detail-oriented and creative problem-solving approach;
  • Ability to quickly develop a working knowledge of programs and systems employed by the Bank;
  • Ongoing and consistent adoption of the Bank's goals and core values.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-6 years' experience in commercial real estate;
  • MBA, CPA, or CFA;
  • Industry/market knowledge of the commercial real estate sector.
