Job Opportunity:

As a Director on the Real Estate team at Royal Bank of Canada, you will be responsible for driving business development and managing a portfolio of commercial real estate clients. Your primary focus will be on providing lending solutions for low-rise and high-rise residential real estate projects, as well as income-producing real estate. In this role, you will work closely with high-value clients, structuring bilateral and complex syndicated facilities. You will act as a trusted strategic advisor, connecting clients with other RBC partners to meet their diverse commercial and personal financial needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of real estate clients to deliver on financing requests and maintain credit health.
  • Oversee loan structuring and underwriting, ensuring quality and adherence to RBC lending guidelines.
  • Mentor and coach Associate Directors in deal structuring, negotiation skills, and RBC policies.
  • Proactively maintain account health and integrity from a portfolio quality management perspective.
  • Develop and maintain a strong external network in the real estate community, including lending syndicate partners and law firms.

Requirements:

  • Previous real estate lending experience and a proven track record in sales and business development.
  • Superior negotiation skills, deep industry expertise, and excellent credit structuring and underwriting skills.
  • Strong computer skills, excellent written and verbal communications skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Motivated proactive thinker with detail-oriented and creative problem-solving approach.
