About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Cook to join our team at Film Cafe. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, including special meals for patients as instructed by a dietitian or chef.
  • Menu Planning: Plan menus and estimate food requirements for their realization, taking into account dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, ensuring that we always have the necessary resources to meet customer demand.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, providing guidance and support to ensure that our team is working efficiently and effectively.
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure that they are clean and safe for customers and staff.
  • Training and Development: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, as well as order supplies and equipment as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: Will train.
  • Work Setting: Café environment.
  • Security and Safety: Basic security clearance required.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle heavy loads, and stand for extended periods.
