We offer competitive salaries based on experience, ranging from $60,000 to over $80,000 per year, plus benefits and opportunities for advancement.


About the Job


This is a full-time opportunity that requires adaptability, safety consciousness, and excellent communication skills. You will work closely with our crew members to ensure seamless marine operations, prioritize passenger safety, and contribute to maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities



  • Operate vessels according to Transport Canada regulations, adhering to our Safety Management System and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations;
  • Maintain accurate records of vessel maintenance, inspections, and incident reports, promoting transparency and accountability within our operations;
  • Participate in regular training sessions and drills, staying up-to-date on industry best practices and company policies;
  • Collaborate with our dock operations team to ensure efficient vessel management, resolving any issues promptly and professionally;
  • Foster a positive working relationship with our Deckhands, providing constructive feedback and support to help them excel in their roles;
  • Conduct routine safety checks, identify potential hazards, and report any incidents or concerns to management immediately;
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to our health and safety protocols and contributing to a safe working environment;
  • Support emergency response efforts, deploying your expertise and knowledge to minimize disruptions and maintain continuity;
  • Engage with other departments to enhance our overall service quality, ensuring exceptional customer experiences throughout every interaction;
  • Role model our company values, demonstrating professionalism, respect, and a commitment to delivering outstanding results.

Requirements & Qualifications



  • A valid Transport Canada Mate 150 Gross Tonnage certificate;
  • Consideration will be given to candidates holding a Mate Limited over 60 Gross Tonnage certificate with relevant supporting experience;
  • A current Marine Basic First Aid certification;
  • A current Transport Canada-approved medical certificate for domestic operations;
  • A minimum two years of experience in the marine environment;
  • Possession of a Ships Security Officer Certificate is considered an asset;
  • Holding a Small Vessel Machinery Operator license is also an asset;
  • The ability to successfully complete a criminal background check;
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic;
  • The capacity to perform physically demanding tasks, including reaching, bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods;
  • The ability to wear assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), if required.
