Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Policy Manager to join our team at BMO. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise in the analysis, development, and implementation of risk policy frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain policy documentation to achieve business results and support corporate, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide trusted advice to designated groups and influence business objectives.
  • Recommend and implement solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the business.
  • Assist in the development of strategic plans and identify emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.
  • Analyze the impact of projects on policies and procedures and assess and report the impact of changes to stakeholders.
  • Support the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Integrate information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis, and streamlined reporting.
  • Build change management plans and lead or participate in change management activities.
  • Develop tailored messaging and identify appropriate distribution channels.
  • Assist in preparing materials required for audits and regulatory exams.
  • Obtain required approval processes when implementing changes.
  • Provide input into the planning and implementation of operational programs.
  • Create, implement, and sustain guidelines, standards, operating procedures, and other documentation.
  • Initiate and coordinate review processes among stakeholders.
  • Identify and eliminate gaps in current state of policies and procedural documentation.
  • Review documentation to ensure it is up to date, accurate, and complete.
  • Break down strategic problems and analyze data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure alignment between stakeholders.
  • Monitor and track performance and address any issues.
  • Design and produce regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards.
  • Identify business needs and design/develop tools and training programs.
  • Employ systems to manage information.
Qualifications
  • Typically between 5-7 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of risk management, audit, compliance, and/or governance policy management.
  • In-depth knowledge of business and regulatory environment.
  • Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.
  • Broad knowledge of re-engineering concepts.
  • Proven experience in Visio & Adobe.
  • Demonstrated experience with SharePoint database application, execution, modification, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Project management skills – in-depth.
  • Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.
  • Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth.
  • Collaboration & team skills - In-depth.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills - In-depth.
  • Influence skills - In-depth.
