Electrical Estimator/Project Coordinator

Responsibilities



  • Develop and prepare detailed estimates for commercial and industrial construction projects, taking into account all relevant factors and requirements.
  • Engage in a wide range of project coordination activities, including budget analysis, issuing subcontracts, scope reviews, requisitions, change management, and ongoing communication to ensure project completion.
  • Schedule and coordinate drawing submittals, hardware, and material delivery to job sites, as well as submit monthly progress claims and approve invoices.
  • Maintain consistently high standards of client satisfaction, ensuring that projects meet requirements for safety, quality, schedule, and cost.
  • Identify and address key project issues in a timely and effective manner, both internally and externally.
  • Interpret construction drawings and specifications to understand project requirements and effectively interface with clients.
  • Prepare accurate and timely material take-offs, estimates, bid letters, and schedules.
  • Utilize estimating software and expand its capabilities to improve project management and coordination.
  • Solicit quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Develop and prepare construction schedules.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Technical Requirements



  • A degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
  • Experience working in general contracting or the construction management sector is considered a significant asset.
  • Industrial experience is also considered an asset.
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Project, project cost control software, and project management software is essential.
