Job Title: Technical IT Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical IT Leader to join our team at Employment and Social Development Canada.

Job Summary:

The Technical IT Leader will be responsible for providing technical advice and support for IT infrastructure operations, integrating and deploying IT systems, and providing technical analysis and recommendations on IT systems and products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide specialized technical advice and support for technical issues related to IT infrastructure operations.
  • Integrate, deploy, and/or maintain IT systems.
  • Provide technical analysis, advice, and recommendations on IT systems, products, and services.
  • Develop, implement, or evaluate information technology policies, guidelines, standards, and frameworks.
  • Lead or participate in project teams and working groups of technical staff to facilitate the development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and resolution of IT infrastructure issues.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management, or another specialty relevant to the position.
  • Experience of approximately two (2) years obtained within the last five (5) years in technical analysis and development of a project, initiative, or digital service to meet client needs and requirements.
  • Experience of approximately two (2) years in collaboration and building effective working relationships with various IM/IT stakeholders and a multidisciplinary team to develop, deliver, or support a digital application, project, initiative, or service.
  • Experience of approximately two (2) years obtained within the last five (5) years in providing technical recommendations, guidance, or advice to clients, colleagues, or management on issues related to digital systems, applications, projects, initiatives, or digital services.
Asset Qualifications:
  • University degree from a recognized academic institution in computer science, information technology, information management, or another field related to the position.
  • Professional certifications such as ITIL, PMP, or certifications in cloud technologies.
  • Experience supervising employees and providing technical guidance and support.
