Job Summary

The Government of Alberta seeks a highly skilled and experienced Senior Wildlife Biologist to lead our conservation efforts. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in the sustainable management of Alberta's natural resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Conduct Wildlife Population Assessments: Develop and implement strategies to monitor and manage wildlife populations, ensuring the long-term health of Alberta's ecosystems.
  • Develop and Implement Conservation Plans: Collaborate with stakeholders to create and execute comprehensive conservation plans, addressing the needs of diverse wildlife species and habitats.
  • Collaborate with Government Agencies and Stakeholders: Foster strong relationships with government agencies, First Nations, and Metis communities to promote wildlife conservation and management.
  • Provide Expert Guidance: Offer technical expertise on wildlife management issues, ensuring informed decision-making and effective conservation strategies.
  • Analyze Data and Prepare Reports: Conduct thorough data analysis and prepare comprehensive reports on wildlife status, assessment, and population trends.
  • Mentor and Guide Junior Biologists: Share your expertise and experience with junior biologists and technicians, supporting their professional development and growth.
