Wildlife Conservation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Wildlife Biologist to join our team at the Government of Alberta. As a key member of our wildlife management team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing conservation strategies to ensure the long-term sustainability of Alberta's natural resources.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and conduct comprehensive wildlife population assessments and habitat studies to inform conservation decisions.
- Develop and implement effective conservation plans and policies that balance human needs with wildlife conservation goals.
- Collaborate with government agencies, stakeholders, and the public to promote wildlife conservation and education.
- Engage with First Nations and Metis communities to ensure their perspectives and knowledge are incorporated into conservation efforts.
- Provide expert guidance on wildlife management issues and develop recommendations for policy and program development.
- Analyze data and prepare detailed reports on wildlife status, assessment, and population trends.
- Mentor and guide junior biologists and technicians to develop their skills and expertise.
