Senior Fisheries Biologist

Job Summary:
The Government of Alberta is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Fisheries Biologist to join our team. As a key leader in Alberta's fisheries management system, you will be responsible for managing and implementing fisheries programs, conducting research and analysis, and providing expert advice to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement fisheries management plans and strategies
- Conduct research and analysis on fisheries populations and habitats
- Provide expert advice to stakeholders on fisheries management and conservation
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to achieve fisheries management goals
- Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities and stakeholders
Requirements:
- Master's degree in fisheries or a related field
- Minimum 6 years of experience in fisheries management and research
- Strong knowledge of fisheries biology, ecology, and management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
