Apprenticeship Training Specialist

The Government of Northwest Territories is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Apprenticeship Training Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in the development, implementation, coordination, administration, and communication of apprenticeship, skilled trades, and occupation certification programs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and maintain territorial and national industry standards for skilled trades and occupations.
- Coordinate the ongoing maintenance, research, design, and development of programming for existing and emerging trades and designated occupations.
- Design and develop certification initiatives for trades and occupations certification and apprenticeship training.
- Communicate and engage with industry, training providers, and other government departments to ensure high standards of apprenticeship and related training are maintained and enhanced.
- Diploma in Education, Adult Education, or Social Sciences, and two (2) years of experience in program management, development, and evaluation.
- Strong knowledge of program development, implementation, and monitoring, as well as adult development theory and alternative methods of training.
- Ability to apply a team-based approach when working with colleagues and facilitate meeting discussions and lead groups toward consensus.
- Research, analysis, and evaluation skills to assess information and data from various sources.
