Clinical Support Coordinator

Job Summary
The Cornwall Community Hospital is seeking a skilled Clinical Support Coordinator to join our team. As a Clinical Support Coordinator, you will play a vital role in assisting patients, caregivers, and community members to manage clinical conditions and transitions. Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional support to our patients and their families, ensuring that they receive the best possible care.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer and place telephone calls, relay messages, and direct patients' relatives and visitors
- Complete diagnostic requisitions, process diagnostic requisitions, initiate transfer forms, and process physician's orders
- Fulfill requisitions on patient charts, ensuring they are complete and up-to-date
- Order supplies for the Unit and maintain a well-organized workspace
Requirements
- Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma
- Medical Terminology (tested with a pass mark of 75% or greater)
- Medical Office Assistant Course or related experience
- Working knowledge of Word, StaffRight, Excel, and Anzer
- Good understanding of Emergency Response Codes
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure
- Good interpersonal skills necessary to deal with patients and their families
- Demonstrated ability to process physician's orders
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand instructions, memos, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to do basic arithmetic to complete reports
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
- Typing speed of 45 w.p.m.
- Good interpersonal and organization skills and strong team orientation
- Demonstrated regular, punctual attendance
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety
- Functional level in both official languages (oral and written in English; oral in French)
