Division Head of Diagnostic and Molecular Pathology Opportunity

The Eastern Ontario Regional Laboratory Association (EORLA) invites applications for the position of Division Head of Diagnostic and Molecular Pathology, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, The Ottawa Hospital (TOH).

The successful candidate will provide leadership for the Division of Diagnostic and Molecular Pathology at TOH, working collaboratively with all stakeholders to deliver high-quality clinical services and academic programs. The role will participate in TOH Anatomical Pathology service and call, and contribute to the academic mission of TOH and the University of Ottawa.

The ideal candidate will have previous progressive leadership experience, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively communicate and interact with a diverse range of individuals and teams. Written and oral French language skills would be an asset.

The candidate must hold a MD degree and be licensed or eligible for licensure in the province of Ontario. A fellowship in Diagnostic and Molecular Pathology with the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada is required.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a team of healthcare professionals at The Ottawa Hospital, The University of Ottawa, and EORLA, and contribute to the development of the Division of Diagnostic and Molecular Pathology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership for the Division of Diagnostic and Molecular Pathology at TOH
  • Work collaboratively with all stakeholders to deliver high-quality clinical services and academic programs
  • Participate in TOH Anatomical Pathology service and call
  • Contribute to the academic mission of TOH and the University of Ottawa
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the quality and efficiency of diagnostic and molecular pathology services
Requirements
  • MD degree
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the province of Ontario
  • Fellowship in Diagnostic and Molecular Pathology with the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada
  • Previous progressive leadership experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with a diverse range of individuals and teams
