We are seeking a skilled Claims Support Specialist to join our team at Intact Financial Corporation. As a key member of our insurance defence litigation group, you will provide administrative support and play a crucial role in managing the day-to-day activities of our lawyers.

About the Role

As a Claims Support Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing administrative support, including scheduling meetings, photocopying, drafting correspondence, preparing pleadings, creating and updating trial binders, etc.
  • Implementing an effective diary system to help manage the lawyer's practice
  • Partnering with assigned lawyers in managing workflow, scheduling appearances, monitoring calendars and meeting various deadlines
  • Supporting clients to schedule appointments; exchanging and obtaining information and communicating case progress
  • Reviewing and managing documents with software programs, ensuring electronic filing is up to date
  • Providing support to assistants, clerks, lawyers, and management
  • Proficiency in dictation with a high degree of accuracy
  • Updating knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
  • Accomplishing organizational goals by living Intact's Success Factors
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • College diploma from either a legal office administration or law clerk program, or any combination of equivalent education and experience
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in the insurance defence litigation
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong document management skills with the ability to learn and utilize Intact's various software programs, including iManage, Citrix, ACL, Nuance
  • Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills
  • Ability to prioritize and organize with a demonstrated disciplined approach to work
  • Excellent communication, listening, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a team or independently, exercise sound judgment and take initiative
  • Demonstrate a disciplined approach to work
  • Working knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada

The estimated salary for this position is around $65,000-$85,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
