Leadership Opportunity

VVA Retirement Communities is seeking a Building Services Director to lead our Building Services team. As a key member of our management team, you will oversee the maintenance and housekeeping departments, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations and exceptional resident experiences.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, effective communication, and problem-solving abilities. You will be responsible for managing a team of approximately 10 staff members, implementing preventative maintenance programs, and maintaining high standards of quality service.

If you share our passion for leadership and service excellence, we invite you to join our team as a Building Services Director.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, direct, supervise, and evaluate operational activities within the Housekeeping and Maintenance departments.
- Manage day-to-day operations, including service contracts, systems management, and maintenance of the building.
- Establish and implement preventative maintenance programs for all systems and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, such as the Retirement Homes Act, and company policies.
- Collaborate with other departments to maintain high levels of communication and service delivery.

Requirements

- 3+ years of management experience in Long Term Care or Retirement Homes settings.
- Knowledge and experience with HVAC equipment, building management systems, and safety systems.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, and respond to call-ins.
- Up-to-date police check (vulnerable sector) verified annually.
- Valid Driver's license and access to a vehicle.
