Head Chef

At Mattawa River Resort, we are seeking a highly skilled Head Chef to oversee our kitchen operations. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity that offers a competitive salary of $65,000 per year.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing menus, estimating food requirements, and managing inventory. They will also ensure that all food is prepared to the highest standards, meeting the needs of our guests with dietary restrictions. Additionally, they will inspect kitchens and food service areas to maintain a safe and clean environment.

• Determine the size of food portions and costs, plan menus, and estimate food requirements for their realization.
• Requisition food and kitchen supplies, prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods.
• Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, inspect kitchens and food service areas.
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, clean kitchen and work areas.
• Organize buffets and banquets, manage kitchen operations, and supervise staff.

To be successful in this role, you must have 1-2 years of experience as a chef, preferably in a high-volume restaurant or hotel setting. You must also have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. A secondary school graduation certificate and a valid driver's license are also required.
