Job Type: Part Time

Position Overview

This part-time opportunity allows Physicians to work with CAF members without requiring membership themselves. By joining our team, you will have the chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those who serve their country.

Responsibilities
  • Providing general orthopaedic consultation services to CAF members on a referral basis
  • Conducting comprehensive diagnoses, medical management, and rehabilitation of patients
  • Determining procedures for preoperative and postoperative care, applying surgical techniques, and coordinating operations with anesthesiologists
  • Participating as a member of the multidisciplinary team for case conferences when on-site
  • Working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure the healthcare needs of CAF members are met
  • Practicing in accordance with the Canadian Armed Forces' Spectrum of Care, Drug Benefit List, and Code of Ethics
Requirements
  • Licensed and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta
  • Fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery with the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC)
  • Basic Life Support for Health Providers or CPR/AED Level C Certification
Security Clearance and Other Requirements
  • A security clearance at the Reliability level is required
  • CF Basic Aviation and Dive Medicine Certification is considered an asset but not mandatory

The estimated annual salary for this position is around $250,000 CAD, depending on experience and qualifications. This compensation package includes competitive benefits and opportunities for professional growth.
