About Island Gold Mine
Alamos Gold's Island Gold Mine is one of Canada's highest grade and lowest cost gold mines. With over 550 team members, the underground operation is located in northern Ontario, just east of the town of Dubreuilville, 83 kilometres northeast of Wawa.
Project Quality Coordinator – Phase 3+
The Quality Coordinator will be involved with the procurement, construction and commissioning of all facilities associated with the Shaft and Plants complexes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop the Quality Assurance and Quality Control plans for the plants area construction.
• Maintaining relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and other relevant parties.
• Reviewing drawings, scopes of work and other relevant contract documents, for compliance to ensure supplier and contractor proposals include adequate plans to meet the project quality requirements.
• Monitor overall construction performance with regard to technical quality and compliance with design and specification requirements.
• Managing project quality turn-over documents.
• Consult on project specific quality control strategy.
• Participate in work place inspections and construction methodology reviews.
• Work directly with contractors and suppliers to develop detailed ITPs and oversee field execution of those plans.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical diploma with relevant industry experience required.
• 5-10 years experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control.
• Mining or heavy industrial construction experience considered an asset.
• Proficient use of Microsoft applications.
• Excellent planning, leadership, organization and communication skills.
• Ability to communicate and interact within all levels of the organization.
The schedule for this position is based in a camp operation working on a 2-1 rotational schedule with flights provided from Toronto, Sudbury and Rouyn-Noranda. Role may require remote work and travel to vendor sites as required.
