Island Gold Mine is one of Canada's highest grade and lowest cost gold mines, located in northern Ontario. With over 550 team members, the underground operation is dedicated to growth, high performance, and a culture of safety and accountability.
Project Quality Coordinator - Phase 3+
Reporting to Island Gold's Plants Area Project Manager, the Quality Coordinator will be involved with the procurement, construction, and commissioning of all facilities associated with the Shaft and Plants complexes.
The successful candidate will have broad experience in construction, procurement, and process plant commissioning, with a focus on quality assurance and control.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement quality assurance and control plans for the plants area construction.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and other relevant parties.
• Review drawings, scopes of work, and other relevant contract documents to ensure compliance with project quality requirements.
• Monitor overall construction performance and ensure technical quality and compliance with design and specification requirements.
• Manage project quality turnover documents and consult on project-specific quality control strategies.
• Participate in workplace inspections and construction methodology reviews.
• Work directly with contractors and suppliers to develop detailed ITPs and oversee field execution of those plans.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical diploma with relevant industry experience required.
• 5-10 years experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control.
• Mining or heavy industrial construction experience considered an asset.
• Proficient use of Microsoft applications.
• Excellent planning, leadership, organization, and communication skills.
• Ability to communicate and interact within all levels of the organization.
The schedule for this position is based in a camp operation working on a 2-1 rotational schedule with flights provided from Toronto, Sudbury, and Rouyn-Noranda. Role may require remote work and travel to vendor sites as required.
