About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer/Project Manager to join our team in Edmonton. As a key member of our Mechanical and Electrical team, you will play a crucial role in managing mechanical engineering projects of various sizes and complexity in commercial, residential, and industrial buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage project activities from conception to completion, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery of energy-saving, safe, and cost-effective solutions to clients.
  • Work closely with clients to provide the best and most appropriate design solutions for their projects.
  • Provide guidance to clients, technical staff, and sub-consultants to ensure projects are technically sound and completed successfully.
  • Ensure professional quality services in all facets of work, including quality and cost control during the design and construction process.
  • Lead the project team to ensure technical accuracy of project deliverables and provide mentoring to technical staff.
  • Oversee the development of staff competence and assist in the training and teaching of new technicians and engineers.
  • Manage project activities throughout the lifecycle, including the allocation of adequate resources, documentation, and other factors necessary for success.
  • Maintain project schedules and project cost summaries to track work progress, budget status, and manpower resource utilization.
  • Work with the field review team during the construction phase and ensure ASHRAE compliance and LEED where applicable.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry and technical trends, codes, and standards.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant discipline.
  • Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng.) and 10+ years of engineering and/or design coordination experience in the consulting industry.
  • Experience in multi-disciplined project coordination and management.
  • LEED Certification is an asset.
  • Excellent time management and project management skills, with good planning and organizational skills.
  • A self-starter mentality and willingness to take ownership of complex engineering problems.
  • Detailed understanding of project proposal writing.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and REVIT would be an asset.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current engineering principles and practices, complemented with a strong knowledge of project management concepts and practices.
  • Experience conducting site visits would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of Canadian Engineering standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communications skills.
  • Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures.
