Mechanical Engineering Project Manager

MCW Group of Companies is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer / Project Manager to join our Edmonton office.
About the Role:This is a key position that plays a crucial role in managing mechanical engineering projects of various sizes and complexity in commercial, residential, and industrial buildings. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project activities from conception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and on budget, and meeting or exceeding client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage project activities throughout the lifecycle, including resource allocation, documentation, and other factors necessary for success.
- Ensure projects are technically sound and completed successfully, providing guidance to clients, technical staff, and sub-consultants as needed.
- Provide quality and cost control during the design and construction process, leading the project team to ensure technical accuracy of project deliverables.
- Mentor technical staff, assigning duties as required, and oversee the development of staff competence and assist in the training and teaching of new technicians and engineers.
- Work with the field review team during the construction phase and ensure ASHRAE compliance and LEED where applicable.
- Stay up-to-date with industry and technical trends, codes, and standards.
- Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant discipline such as Building Systems.
- Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng.)
- 10+ years of engineering and/or design coordination experience in the consulting industry, with experience in multi-disciplined project coordination and management.
- LEED Certification is an asset.
- Experience leading project teams in designing major engineering projects.
- Excellent time management and project management skills.
- Good planning and organizational skills.
- A self-starter mentality and willingness to take ownership of complex engineering problems.
- Detailed understanding of project proposal writing.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and REVIT.
- Comprehensive knowledge of current engineering principles and practices, complemented with a strong knowledge of project management concepts and practices.
- Experience conducting site visits.
- Knowledge of Canadian Engineering standards.
- Excellent written and verbal English communications skills.
- High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning.
- Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures.
