We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Health and Safety Expert to join our team at the Manufacturing Safety Alliance of BC. The ideal candidate will have experience in occupational health and safety advisory services, resources, and training for manufacturing and food processing businesses.
About Us
The Manufacturing Safety Alliance of BC is a nonprofit health & safety association dedicated to making manufacturing safer and ensuring every worker returns home healthy and safe each day. With a mostly remote team in the Lower Mainland and an office in the Okanagan, we work with over 3000 B.C. manufacturers to reduce injuries in the workplace.
Job Description
This role requires a hybrid of home-based/remote and office-based work, primarily supporting regions of BC. As a Manufacturing Health and Safety Expert, you will be responsible for assessing needs, planning strategy and annual action plans, and supporting implementation of members' safety management programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as member clients' key contact for inquiries and delivery of all health and safety programs, resources, and training.
- Deliver information briefings and educational sessions to show the value of health and safety strategies through employee engagement and leadership buy-in.
- Consult on the development and improvement of members' safety management programs.
- In collaboration with other teams, develop content, resources, and access points for health and safety services delivery.
- Develop best-practice programs for the manufacturing industry to support members with ensuring compliance to regulations and provide adequate controls.
- Work with the Training and Marketing teams to support outreach and education strategies.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Health Sciences or a similar field.
- Strong training in OHS health and safety regulations, policy, and program development, coaching, and mentorship experience.
- A minimum of five to seven years of experience in OHS advisory or consulting.
- Working knowledge of applicable WorkSafeBC and BC OHS Regulations, CSA Standards, and COR or ISO Audit standards and guidelines.
Salary Range
The estimated salary range for this position is $85,000 - $97,500 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
