About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team at Verdi Structures Inc. as a key member of our estimating department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimating and Cost Management
    • Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects
    • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
    • Operate computer-aided design (CAD) software and other estimating tools
    • Conduct quantity take-off procedures to ensure accurate cost estimates
    • Advise on tendering procedures and provide cost estimates for bidding purposes
  • Contract Administration
    • Set up and maintain cost monitoring and reporting systems
    • Monitor and adjust contract expenditures to ensure project profitability
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors to discuss changes and adjustments to cost estimates
    • Provide cost estimates and advice to project stakeholders
    Requirements
    • Education and Experience
      • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in construction estimating or a related field
      • College or CEGEP diploma in a relevant field
    • Skills and Knowledge
      • Proficiency in estimating software and CAD systems
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
