About the Role:
The Project Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are executed effectively and within budget. This includes leading productivity initiatives, monitoring work performance, and managing subcontractor activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement construction plans, ensuring compliance with design requirements and quality standards.
- Manage subcontractor activities, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project schedules.
- Monitor and report on project progress, identifying potential issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure a safe working environment, adhering to safety regulations and protocols.
- Document and report incidents, accidents, and near-misses, contributing to a culture of safety and risk management.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to resolve quality assurance issues and address problem areas.
- Prepare as-built drawings, including roads, parking lots, driveways, and excavations.
- Coordinate equipment usage, ensuring maximum efficiency and minimizing downtime.
- Confirm quantities and payments with owners' representatives and subcontractors.
Requirements:
- Construction-related degree or equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
- Minimum 5 years of construction experience in road construction, fine grading, culvert installation, or related activities.
- Experience with GPS survey and grade control systems is an asset.
- Effective leadership skills, ability to engage and manage crews.
- Ability to lead and evaluate trade performance, advanced knowledge of construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control, and engineering drawings.
- Computer knowledge, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, MS Word, and ability to assume responsibility, interface, and communicate with others.
- Valid Class G License and clean driver's abstract.
- Willingness to travel and live according to project location.
