About the Role:
As a key member of our team at Miller Paving South Western Ontario, you will be responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities on a daily basis. This includes taking the lead on productivity issues, monitoring work performance and efficiency of employees and subcontractors, and ensuring project plans and schedules are followed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a construction plan, managing subcontractor activities and ensuring compliance with design requirements.
- Ensure project materials and workmanship meet quality standards, and implement safety protocols to create a safe work environment.
- Document and report all injuries, and advise management of potential problems or schedule difficulties.
- Perform additional assignments as directed by superiors or required for successful project completion.
- Coordinate equipment usage, maintain job diaries and site photos, and confirm quantities and payments with owner's representatives and subcontractors.
Requirements:
- Construction-related degree or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience.
- Minimum 5 years of construction experience in road construction, fine grading, culvert installation, or other related activities.
- Experience with GPS survey and grade control systems is an asset.
- Effective leadership skills, ability to engage and manage crews, and advanced knowledge of construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control, and engineering drawings.
- Computer knowledge, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and MS Word.
- Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and communicate with others, and willingness to work occasional weekends and evenings as the project schedule demands.
- Valid Class G License and clean driver's abstract, and willingness to travel and live according to project location.
