Project Superintendent Job Description

As a key member of our team at Miller Paving South Western Ontario, the Project Superintendent will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project plans and schedules.
  • Lead productivity initiatives, monitoring work performance and efficiency of employees and subcontractors to optimize project outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of construction plans and manage subcontractor activities to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Ensure construction compliance with design requirements and quality standards.
  • Implement and maintain a safe work environment, adhering to safety regulations and record-keeping requirements.
  • Document and report all incidents, injuries, and accidents, and advise management of potential problems or schedule difficulties.
  • Perform additional assignments as directed by superiors or required for successful project completion.
Requirements:
  • Construction-related degree or equivalent technical training and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of construction experience in road construction, fine grading, culvert installation, or related activities.
  • Experience with GPS survey and grade control systems is an asset.
  • Effective leadership skills, ability to engage and manage crews, and lead trade performance evaluation.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control, and engineering drawings.
  • Computer knowledge, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and communicate with others, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid Class G License and clean driver's abstract.
  • Willingness to travel and live according to project location.
