Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Craig Keen Despatie Markell LLP Full time
Role Overview

As an Economic Policy Lead with Craig Keen Despatie Markell LLP, you will have the opportunity to drive agricultural insights and lead research projects that make a meaningful impact. With your extensive knowledge of quantitative economic methods and data analysis, you will be instrumental in evaluating programs and business alternatives for clients in the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors.

About Us

Craig Keen Despatie Markell LLP is a consulting firm dedicated to delivering innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients. We pride ourselves on our empowered teams, where professionals are encouraged to take ownership of their work and drive results. As a valued member of our team, you will be part of a diverse group of experts who understand the business needs of clients and provide leading-edge analysis and research services to support evidence-based decision making.

Responsibilities

Lead the proposal, planning, and delivery of agriculture research projects such as economic impact studies, cost-benefit studies, and market studies for clients in the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors. Manage engagement planning and scheduling as well as project financials (budgets, WIP, timely billing, collection, variance recognition). Review, design, and develop high-quality deliverables including reports, presentations, and other correspondence. Maintain high-quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify, and address issues or key risks relevant to the client's business. Network in the local business community, consider business development opportunities, and lead the preparation and delivery of competitive proposals to meet client needs. Mentor, motivate, and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback, and conducting performance reviews. Contribute to strategic and operational planning related to client and practice management, as well as the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes.

Requirements

We are seeking a candidate with a Master's or PhD in Agricultural Economics. Relevant certifications such as CMC or PMP are considered an asset. A minimum of 10 years of consulting experience, ideally in a client-service environment, is required. You must possess strong writing and communication skills, advanced project management skills, and proven people management, relationship building, and leadership skills. Strategic planning and conceptual thinking skills are essential, as is an established network within the Canadian agricultural community.

What We Offer

We offer a highly competitive salary of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience. Our benefits package includes a group pension plan with 4% matching, voluntary savings products, bonus programs, flexible benefits, mental health resources, exclusive access to perks and discounts, professional development assistance, MNP University, a flexible 'Dress For Your Day' environment, and more.
